Family fun on the Jumping Pillow

The indoor play barn
Playing in the straw bales

On days when it's a bit too cool to stay outside, the indoor play-barn is great for the children to burn off some energy. There are picnic tables beside the sandpit with its cranes and buckets and spades. All sorts of pedal cars and and pedal tractors can be used by the children. The bale climbing is great too, especially the tunnel and slide. This is good fun for all ages.

Jumping Pillow

Fun for adults and children alike.

The Jumping Pillow is 11 metres x 9 metres, so there is plenty of room to jump about. On very busy days we ask the adults to just let the children on it, but quieter days allow both to play together. It is very safe as long as there are no somersaults and everyone must remove their shoes and anything  sharp like jewellery etc. It's advisable to pack a spare pair of socks, in case the surrounding sand is wet or to protect feet on very hot days.

Mustard Pot Playhouse

Children love playing in our Mustard Pot Playhouse , while Mum sits and relaxes with a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of homemade cake from our superb cafe which serves food made from fresh ingredients by our chef Amy.There are ovens, a toy washing machine, cradles, prams and even a microwave. In fact everything to make the assortment of dolls feel at home!

The Gobots

A recent addition to the Play Area are the Gobots. These are electric robots with secret weapons! Fire onto an unsuspecting spectator or other robot your hidden water pistol-great fun. The Gobots are coin operated for a great fun addition to your childrens day out. There is also an electric car for smaller children.

Egg Collecting

Daily, usually about 1.30pm, the children can take part in helping to collect the eggs from our large collection of hens. One of members of staff will organise the children so they all get a chance to pick some fresh free range eggs from the nest boxes. This is a wonderful experience for the children, especially if they have only ever seen eggs in a box from the supermarket.O.K. so sometimes we get the odd cracked egg because the little tot didn't realise how fragile eggs are. Well that is alright- it means that not only have they learnt where eggs come from,  they also realise how delicate they are too. We really want children to have a wonderful day here at the farm but go home with a little bit more knowledge too!

Small Animal Petting Barn
Little girl meeting the baby rabbits

One of the most popular things about a visit to Pigeons Farm is that you really can get close to the animals. We believe it is good for children to be able to touch or even hold the animals in a safe way. This increases their confidence and knowledge of the animals and can stimulate them to learn more about them after they leave the farm. In the Petting Barn we have rabbits, guinea pigs and usually a few baby ones too. Often we have chicks too.To watch the children's faces as they experience for the first time the soft rabbit's fur or fluffy chick is wonderful! Farmer Bob or one of his assistants are usually on hand to allow the children to touch and feel. Obviously, if they are not present for any reason (very rare) the children must not try to pick them up.

Bottle feeding the lambs

From spring till summer we usually have a few orphan lambs who need bottle feeding. We perhaps carry on with this longer than is absolutely necessary but the lambs enjoy it and the children do too so why not? The lambs have grass and lamb pellets too , so they do very well! They love the attention they get from everyone and become very tame.
