We are keen to welcome schools to Pigeons Farm for educational purposes to cover Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 and 2. Our facilities include:-
- Indoor Room - for class use for the day, with seasonal and educational displays
- Outdoor and covered picnic areas, indoor café with gift shop, toilets (including disabled facilities) and handwash areas around the farm
- Indoor playbarn with bale climbing, pedal tractors and sandpit
- Small Animal Petting Barn – rabbits, guinea pigs and chicks where we encourage the children to hold the animals, ask questions about them and learn
- Livestock Area – pigs, sheep, cattle, goats, horses, ponies, donkeys. Here the children can get close to the animals and learn about their breeding and rearing. During the year there is a breeding programme when children can see piglets, kids, lambs and foals. From mid March we usually have some lambs which can be bottle-fed
- Pond Viewing Area – view various breeds of waterfowl from a safe area behind fencing
- Poultry Area – unusual and rare breeds of poultry including hens, turkeys, guinea fowl, ornamental pheasants and peacocks. Here there is an opportunity for children to collect eggs
